Class of 2020 | CADEN

Caden’s is one of my favorite senior session from the class of 2020. Something I love about being a photographer is watching my young clients grow and change. I’ve been photographing this handsome young man since he was in elementary school. He has gone from being a reluctant bribe- -motivated kid to a confident and kind young man.

A graduate of the class of 2020. Between shots he told me all about his plans to play lacrosse for Syracuse University now that he has graduated from high school. He was in the midst of packing for the big move into the dorms. Because I spent several of my own growing up years living in Syracuse, I was rooting for him to become an Orangeman. I sure hope he’s ready for a little snow, though!

MOMS

I never post these because when moms come along, they’re often not prepared for photos. Since they’ve most likely spent the past hour gathering clothes and reminding their kids to brush their teeth and tuck in their shirts. But I always insist on at least one shot of seniors with their mothers. Even when they may be reluctant. But there’s a reason.

As a mom myself, I understand how hard it is to watch your kids launch out into the world. Oftentimes this will be the last chance for a professional photo together before their kid begin to officially “adult”. It’s bittersweet. As much we’ve been looking forward to this moment, it’s still hard to walk away from that dorm room and wave good-bye. Luckily, they’re always just a text away. I can’t imagine how much harder it was for my parents when all they had available was a long-distance phone call. I wish all the best to Caden and a smooth send-off to his parents (who happen to be some of the kindest people I know).
